Jump Rope is a mixture of freestyle and speed jumping. It provides benefits in heart health, improved coordination, greater muscle activation, and many other things! This helps boost mood and fitness levels in a variety of ages!
Freestyle are events that are judged based on creativity and performance of the jumper It consists of events such single rope, pairs, double dutch, triangle, umbrella, and any other creative way combining jump ropes and jumpers.
Speed are events that are judging the quantity of jumps in a specific amount of time. This can be speed step, double unders, crosses, double dutch speed, long rope speed, and any other quantified event.
Any Ball State student is welcome to join us at any practices!! All practices are open! You don't need any experience or equipment, just yourself!
Practices for 2025 are Monday and Thursdays from 7pm to 8pm in RC 212 at the Jo Ann Gora Rec Center!
Ball State Jump Rope was founded in 2018 by competitive jumpers Grace LaVier, Elise McQueen and Eric Hinojosa from the Indy Air Bears. These jumpers have won National and World titles!!
